The choice of your book format:

Depending on the type of book, it’s essential to determine its format from the beginning. Below, you can find the list of formats often used depending on the type of literature:

A4 Portrait (210 x 297 mm) – for publications with illustrations and tables with information;

Publishing Format(160 x 240 mm) – traditional format (e.g historical novels);

Classic format (145 x 210 mm) – for novels, professional books (e.g philosophy)

Square format (200 x 200 mm, 170 x 170 mm ou 150 x 150 mm) – for art books (e.g painting, photo albums, etc)

Pocket format (110 x 170 mm, 120 x 180 mm ou 110 x 200mm) -for collections of poetry, short stories, travelogues (e.g guides) or books for children

Landscape format (297 x 210 mm ou 210 x 145 mm) - The landscape format is ideal for art books and books for children.

The choice of paper

Your choice should be made based on the content of your book. The paper density gives your book a different look and touch.For example,80 gr./m² paper is suitable for a crime novel while qu’un papier 150 gr./m² couché brillant ou mat, convient  à un livre d’art.
